With thousands upon thousands of vendors listed on Gig Salad, you’re bound to find an entertainer or service that your event just can’t live without! Decide which category you’re interested in, type in your city, and voila! Behold the list of local vendors for you to browse. View their photos, watch their videos, check out their reviews, and select your favorites.

Click the Contact button to connect with the performers and vendors you like. They will either respond with a signed Quote/Agreement or will get in touch with you if they need more information about your event. Try to be as thorough as possible when filling out the contact form to eliminate back-and-forth.

  2. What exactly does Gig Salad do?

Gig Salad connects event planners with performers and party vendors. Our mission is to help event planners plan one-of-a-kind events and help talent book amazing gigs. Cool, huh? Our vendor roster is growing by leaps and bounds, which means we’ve got it all… tens of thousands of performers, speakers, caterers, photographers, bands, face painters, and more. Gig Salad is the easiest, best, and most relevant way to book entertainment out there.

  3. How do I remove a quote request I’ve submitted?

Easy! Once you’ve logged in, go to the “Events” page. In the right column of each request you’ll see a handy link to remove it. Click that link, and rest easy knowing it’s been taken out of our system.

  4. How do I sign up for a listing?

Get started by going to this page. It only takes a minute or two to create a listing on Gig Salad.

  5. Does this site really work for performers and vendors?

Well, of course it does! By creating a Gig Salad PromoKit, our members are instantly closer to getting high-paying gigs and tremendous opportunities than they ever were before. We direct event planners and talent buyers to our members. Visitors to your PromoKit can contact you directly by phone or email (for paid members only) or through our system. They can also visit your personal website through your PromoKit. Many of our members feel that our nominal fee is well worth it for this alone.

Our booking system is second to none. We designed it to to be super easy and lightning fast, optimized for better success closing dates and improved communication between both sides during the booking process.

But don’t just take our word for it. Check out some of the countless success stories our members have shared with us.

  6. How much does it cost to get listed?

Well, it depends on how much you want out of your listing. There are four different memberships to choose from… one of them is even free! That’s right… free. Click here for more pricing info.

  7. Are there commissions or finder’s fees to pay when I am booked through

The event planner pays a small service fee when a booking agreement is signed by both parties. This fee covers our costs associated with collecting deposits, administration of payments, and development and maintenance of the system. Performers may cover the service fee for event planners, but only if they choose to do so.

For paid members who wish to handle their own bookings, deposits, and contracts, Gig Salad doesn’t collect any service fees from either side.

  8. As a performer, can I get a lead through Gig Salad, then book the date outside of Gig Salad's system?

Vendors and performers who have signed up for a Free account are required to use our messaging tool and our quote/contract system when responding to leads and booking dates.

Paid members at any level (Semi-Pro, Pro, Featured) have the option of handling their own bookings, deposits, and contracts outside of the Gig Salad system. However, there is a level of protection for both the buyer and the vendor when communication and bookings take place on our platform. Our system has been designed to facilitate a fast, easy, and secure booking process.

  9. How do you drive traffic to Gig Salad?

We know how important it is to get our members the precious exposure they want and need. A great source of traffic to Gig Salad is through search engines, as we appear at the top of many Google, Yahoo, Bing searches related to entertainment booking. We are constantly refining Gig Salad to ensure we’re presenting the cleanest and easiest website for search engines to crawl and index, as we believe that Gig Salad is by far the best and most relevant source for hiring event entertainment and services anywhere. So why shouldn’t we appear at the top?

Not only do we benefit from search engine traffic, but we also do a lot of online and print advertising, trade shows/conferences, sponsorships of events, and have exceptional ongoing relationships with talent buyers and party planners. Rest assured, we’re working very hard to make Gig Salad a place where both event planners and our members benefit greatly.

  10. What will I get with a membership?

You’ll get treasures beyond your wildest dreams. Okay… maybe that was a bit of an overstatement. But you will get a customizable online PromoKit, instantly exposing your services to event planners and talent buyers across North America. You’ll also have instant access to our quoting and booking system, and have access to more gig opportunities and booking tools than you’ve ever had before. This page breaks it down.

  11. Does Gig Salad offer talent representation?

To represent or not to represent… that is the question. Here’s the answer.

  12. Can I pay by PayPal or check?

It’s easiest to pay by credit card, but we can also accept PayPal, checks, money orders, and cashier’s checks for any prepaid membership. For monthly memberships we only accept credit cards.

To pay by PayPal, check, money order, or cashier’s check: First, visit our join page and begin the process of signing up. Determine which prepaid membership level you’d like to purchase, but go ahead and select the free Starter membership to finalize your account. Then, submit the correct PayPal payment to or mail us your membership fee. As soon as we receive your membership fee we’ll upgrade your account almost immediately (in most cases), and you can login and take advantage of your paid features.

  13. If I can get a free page on a site like Facebook, why would I pay to join Gig Salad?

Here’s the skinny. Serious event planners don’t typically search through pages of Facebook or other social networking sites to hire entertainment or vendors for their functions. It’s true that those websites can serve networking needs, and we highly recommend using some of them, but Gig Salad provides you with more valuable, real-time exposure and gig booking needs that those other sites cannot provide.

  14. How do I get featured on the home page?

Those four featured spots are reserved for Featured members who have a 5 star rating. The set of featured members on that page changes every hour.

  15. How do I change the distance that I’m willing to travel?

It’s easy. Just login to your account and click on the “Edit PromoKit” tab, then click on “Overview.” From here select Show Section beside “General Information.” Scroll down a little way and you’ll see “Your travel distance.”

  16. How can I edit/change a mistake that a client made in a review on my profile?

Any changes that need to be made to reviews must be done by the person who posted the review. Just ask the reviewer to login and edit their review. If they didn’t create an account, you can ask them to contact us (from the same email address they used to post the review) stating the details of the change they’d like to make. We know this might be a bit of a pain, but we do this to uphold the integrity of the reviews on Gig Salad.

  17. Can I purchase an ad on Gig Salad?

Aside from creating a PromoKit to advertise your act or service, we currently do not sell any other ad space on Gig Salad. We do have some special places where we provide additional advertising for our members such as on the home page and on category pages. Those spots are reserved for Gig Salad members who are at the Featured level.

  18. How do I change my quick link/URL?

Our Featured members have the ability to change their quick link/URL. If you’re a Featured member interested in a different address, just contact us and we’ll take care it for you.

  19. I’m not receiving emails from Gig Salad. What’s the dealio?

You’re probably missing out on our emails because your email service has blocked our emails as spam. The nerve! Try to find your Internet Service Provider’s (ISP) safe list and add to it. You may also have to contact your ISP to see what the issue might be. More importantly, we highly recommend setting up instant alerts to your mobile phone. Basically, just let us know your cell number and carrier, and we’ll notify you (for free!) when you receive a lead.

  20. I just received a lead from an event planner. How do I know if it’s legit?

The vast majority of gig leads on Gig Salad are from wonderful and honest event planners. However, as it is with most websites, bad apples can attempt shenanigans from time to time.

Use extra caution when dealing with requests which contain any of the following:

    • Requests that you contact the client by email only
    • Requests made that do not apply to the services you offer
    • Messages from event planners outside North America
    • Emails with exceptionally poor grammar
    • Event planners who ask to pay you up front with a large amount and request a check from you for the difference
    • Inquiries with an invalid phone number
    • Inquiries with missing data such as the Event Location

A simple test is to call the phone number they provide. If it’s a generic answering system, a disconnected number, a wrong number, or if there’s no number at all, be VERY cautious.

Please contact us at 1-866-788-GIGS (4447) if you are unsure about the validity of a gig lead.

  21. How do I cancel my membership?

Simply login to your PromoKit and select the “Membership” tab. On this page, select “cancel monthly subscription.” Yep… it’s that easy.

  22. How do I remove my free listing?

Why would you wanna do that? It’s free! But if you must, it’s simple. Login and select the “Edit Promokit” tab. Select “Settings,” then scroll down to the bottom and you’ll see an option to disable your listing. And you can come back and enable it again whenever you’d like!

  23. How do I change my act/business name?

This is the one and only field that you can’t change on your own. We can, though! Please contact us and one of our Gig Salad teamsters will quickly make the name change for you.

  24. Why haven’t I joined Gig Salad yet?
